With this package you will be riding the bus up from Durango at 9:30am.  The bus ride to Silverton you will enjoy one of the most famous roads, The Million Dollar Highway (American Scenic Byway). Driver's, this is a wonderful drive within itself and you will be able to sit back and enjoy the view as well.San Juan Backcountry will pick you up at the Train Station in Silverton with one of there well maintained open top Suburban's. San Juan will start from the train station with your new experience of the backcountry roads in beautiful Silverton.

You will be experiencing how back in the 1800's miners and their families had to travel and along the way you will be seeing waterfalls, old ghost towns, wildflowers, mines and just maybe some wildlife. We will travel up to approximately 13,000 feet. We will be having lunch along the way, where you can take a hike or just sit and enjoy the beautiful San Juan Mountains. We will arrive back in Silverton, Colorado approximately 2:00pm just in time for you to do some quick shopping or exploring around Silverton.  

To finish your day you will return back to Durango on the famous Narrow Gauge Railroad.   The train runs inside the Animas River Canyon You will be leaving Silverton on the train at 2:45pm and will be arriving in Durango at 6:15pm.
